Our
family recently purchased a 1979 Mariner 36 sailboat (hull #12). It is
currently on land awaiting repairs to the deck which has a rotten core.
As you can see we have renamed her and are awaiting the updated coast
guard documentation. There is a lengthy list of repairs which should be
complete by sometime in august. I'll be documenting everything here. After
almost 5 years out of the water with no maintenance she is in amazingly
good condition.
Here is a partial list of items to be done:
- Rotton deck core down the full length of both sides
of the cabin
- Forward most bulkhead is rotten
- Refinish Interior and Exterior Teak
- Pieces of the stainless steel rub rail are detached
or gone
- Some of the navigation lights don't work
- Primary, secondary and shower bilge pumps are bad
- Several sea cocks are rusted
- Electrical system, both AC and DC, is a total mess
- LP solenoid is bad
